A Goblin from a village deep in Ulfandas' territory, Karguk was exiled because of his sexuality. Before he meets Farryn, he lives in Clayhorn, a village consisting of various exiles. He’s known to wander around, and picks up his skill with a bow while hunting for food. He’s part of a group of hunters that provides the village with food, as nobody in the small town has any farming skills. Farryn eventually meets him when they return to the village a second time.
For years, Karguk believes something is wrong with him, and that it was his own fault he now lives in exile. When Farryn passes through Clayhorn, they show eventually him there’s nothing wrong with his sexuality. At first, Karguk doesn't want much to do with them, but allows them to join him on the hunt, since he hasn’t been catching much lately. Farryn’s travel mates share their experiences under Ulfandas' oppression, and Farryn explains why they’ve travelled this far. Karguk starts realizing nothing is wrong with his sexuality, and comes to the conclusion his village was lied to by Ulfandas’ men. Having only one ruler is a recipe for disaster in his eyes now, and he agrees to join Farryn on their quest.
Often described as cheerful and happy-go-lucky by his fellow exiles, he doesn’t really act it when meeting Farryn. Having learned to shut people out, he refuses to listen to Farryn at first. His cheery and often random nature comes back out when Farryn convinces him there's nothing wrong with him. He somewhat lightens the mood on the epic quest to dethrone Ulfandas, and is the only one in the group taunting his opponents. His tattoo is given to exiles on the day they're sent away, and should be a sign of shame in his culture. The colour is often associated with the 'crime' the exiled person committed, and is pink in his case because of his sexuality. However, after meeting Farryn, Karguk wears it proudly, seeing it as a sign the system within Ulfandas' territory is terribly flawed.
